Smart Window Terms of Use

To enable Smart Window, you must accept these additional terms, and the accompanying Smart Window Privacy Notice, which supplement the following Firefox and Mozilla accounts Terms and Privacy Notices that you have already accepted:

The above Terms and Notices are cumulative and complementary, so that all may be applied at once depending on the data in question and the related circumstances. In the event of a conflict, the Smart Window Terms and Privacy Notice will govern.

Age Restriction

To use Smart Window, you must be at least 18 years old. By agreeing to these terms of use, you confirm that you meet this requirement, and that you are consenting to these terms on your own behalf.

License

Subject to the terms below, Mozilla grants you a personal, non-exclusive license to install and use the Smart Window feature within the Firefox web browser. Mozilla may revoke this license or discontinue the feature at any time. If the feature is discontinued or your access is revoked, Mozilla will notify you through appropriate channels.

Compliance With Laws and Mozilla Policies

Your use of Smart Window must comply with all applicable laws, as well as applicable guidelines or policies published by Mozilla. You are responsible for all activities that occur in Smart Window using your account.

You may not use Smart Window or its Outputs for any illegal, harmful, or abusive activity, or to violate Mozilla’s Acceptable Use Policy. You also may not use the Smart Window in a way that interrupts or interferes with Mozilla’s business or its services, including but not limited to Smart Window itself.

Rate Limit

Your use of certain Smart Window features may be subject to rate limits. If a rate limit is instituted or modified, you will receive notice of that change.

Inputs and Outputs

The Smart Window assistant’s outputs (the “Outputs”) are based on the inputs provided or selected by you (the “Inputs”).

You are responsible for all of the Inputs that you provide, and you represent and warrant that you have all rights, licenses, and permissions necessary to allow Smart Window to use them to provide the Outputs.

With respect to Mozilla, you retain ownership of any Inputs that you provide to Smart Window. By providing such Inputs, you grant Mozilla a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide license to use, modify, adapt, or share those Inputs, solely as necessary to respond to your query and provide the Outputs.

By using our services, you represent that you understand that:

  • Outputs may contain hallucinations or inaccurate material. You should not rely solely on the Outputs as a source of factual information, or of specific expertise.
  • Outputs may contain abusive, dangerous, or offensive material, as well as information that has not been screened by Mozilla. The Outputs do not represent Mozilla’s views, and do not indicate an endorsement of a particular opinion, idea, or result. An Output’s reference to third party products or services does not indicate any affiliation between that product or service and Mozilla, unless specifically stated.
  • Smart Window is based on software which uses computer-generated predictive text technology. It does not have feelings and is not sentient. Interactions with it are not equivalent to interactions with a human.
  • Smart Window does not have judgment or specific expertise, and the Outputs should not be used as a substitute for professional advice.

You should review any Outputs to assess appropriateness for your use case. If you choose to share the Outputs with any third party, you do so at your own risk, and on your own behalf.

As between you and Mozilla, we hereby assign to you any rights, title, and interest in the Outputs. Mozilla retains a perpetual, irrevocable license to such Outputs so that it can continue providing you with Smart Window.
